The rains have finally slowed down and the freezing level has lowered so the snow melt has stopped. The rivers are high...but starting to recede.

ANNIVERSARY--January 7, 2009
- Today marks the 25th Anniversary of a day that changed my life forever.
- It was 6:05 PM January 7, 1984 that our family was hit by a DRUNK DRIVER. We received numerous injuries and even though it has been 25 years we deal with the aftermath every day.
- My oldest son, Doug was paralyzed from the waist down that night and I broke every bone from my waist down..we both had a long recovery period after the wreck and still have issues and hospitalizations periodically. My son had to have one leg amputated and I have had 3 hip replacements.
- The gal who hit us (Wendy Katchell) was found guilty of criminal negligent homicide due to the fact that she killed her own daughter that night. There were many other assault charges and she did serve prison time. In the time since the wreck, about 5 years afterwards she died from cancer at a relative young age (35ish)
- As the Founder of the Clackamas County Chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving I beg you
- Don't do this to another family...
- BE RESPONSIBLE-----DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE

We headed off to the southern coast of Oregon on Sunday to spend a bit of time with hubby's mom. She is 88 1/2 years young. Yes she count the halves. It was really great getting to see her and the rest of the family. We had canceled two trips in December due to ice and snow, so it was great to get away.
MIL cooked a wonderful dinner (no she wouldnt let us help) and then Cambria (DA BOMB) and I done a bit of coloring. She is so awesome and talented.....PS DONT LET HER FILL YOUR COPICS MARKERS...she came back from her house covered in red copic marker ink. It took a while to clean up that mess let me tell you...rubbing alcohol work well to clean up with...
We went to a meeting this morning and had a wonderful time. Nancy Littrell shared a new stamp set she had received and it is posted in my SCS gallery. The name of the card is called Garden Boots. Thanks again Nancy..
We had a nice drive home, but after a couple hundred miles I was tired.
Have a wonderful Tuesday.. I will post my cards in the morning for the color challenge of the week.
Good Night
